Here we present some image sequences in MPEG format that illustrate
results of attical techniques.
Tom Tight et Dum Dum
The following MPEG examples use sequences from Tom Tight et Dum Dum.
This is about the only real movie sequence that I have found that is
suitable and has appropriate copyright. Please suggest other
examples.
- These are of the longest continuous sequence of frames in
the Tom Tight set. There is one other of equal length, but of
distractingly lower quality.
- They are designed for 30fps NTSC, but you are likely to want to do
some frame-by-frame stepping.
- The strength is shown in the bottom-left corner, with the frame
number in the bottom-right. The strength of the enhancement is varied
with the intention of illustrating effects.
- The strengths shown are not recommendations, and in some cases
are obviously too strong.
- Note that a feature of the video compression software is
that it can take a frame or two for the output to fully catch up with
sudden changes in a portion of the picture. Or, to put it another
way, beware of comparing two frames too closely.
